PhD/MSc – Modelling of Opinion Dynamics in Social Networks

blue LED Hype sign

Abstract The social networks and online media irreversibly changed the way we become informed, and form our opinions [1]. Social networks are not organised via centralised decision making but through complex chain-like processes, where news items spread over different groups of members. Thus we observe a new phenomenon when agents (both humans and artificial ones) […]

BSc/MSc – Estimation and control under bounded uncertainty

Abstract The thesis will focus on the parameter and/or state estimation of stochastic models. In them, the noise is described by a probability distribution with a bounded support. These models will be used for prediction and model-based control. The mentioned models are suitable for the description of real systems where some of the involved quantities […]

Advanced Bayesian methods for estimation of atmospheric pollutant sources

Quantification of sources of atmospheric pollutants is crucial for regulatory purposes as well as for atmospheric science in general. Due to many physical limitations in observation and modeling, the existing methodologies have many simplifying assumptions, e.g. linear observation model or uncorrelated emission values, which cause inevitable bias in pollutant estimates. We propose to analyze and […]

Dynamic Decision Making 2

Dynamic Decision Making 2 This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of dynamic decision making (DM) under uncertainty and related tools. It is expected that students will learn how to formulate DM problem and to solve it using the technique described. The course also introduces a basic of Fully Probabilistic Design (FPD), which […]

Dynamic Decision-Making under Uncertainty 1

Dynamic Decision Making under Uncertainty 1 This course will introduce the basic ideas underlying modelling dynamic decision problems and the methods used to solve them. The course will focus on probabilistic inference, decision making under uncertainty, and multi-agent interaction. The course helps to develop the mathematical reasoning skills crucial for areas inherently involving uncertainty: artificial […]

2025 DYNALIFE Conference on QUANTUM INFORMATION AND DECISION MAKING IN LIFE SCIENCES

The DYNALIFE interdisciplinary meeting will explore the role of quantum phenomena in the information processing, transfer of complex living systems, decision making and cognition as well as on methods and techniques for simulating biological informational phenomena.

The conference will feature a broad spectrum of topics at the intersection of quantum physics, biology, and information science. We invite submissions of new and original research on a variety of subjects, including but not limited to the following:

quantum transport and sensing
quantum effects in the brain, perception and cognition
role of quantum effects in the origins of life and complexity
quantum-to-classical transition in living organisms
quantum computing for molecular biology
quantum-like modelling and quantum bio inspired technologies
quantum decision making and cognition.
The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among working groups and stimulate cross-field interactions to deepen our fundamental understanding of biological information and its role in the origin of life. Additionally, it will leverage cutting-edge biological insights to describe phenomena in cognition and decision-making and help to explore potential applications (e.g. medicine, technology).

The conference programme includes 4-5 keynote talks, 9 contributed talks, a range of poster presentations and 3 panel discussions.

IAMI – IDENTITY ATTRIBUTES MATRIX INITIATIVE Kick-off meeting

IAMI aims to revolutionize entity identification and resolution in security, intelligence, and investigation contexts. By addressing the challenges and limitations of current identification techniques, it offers a visionary solution through advanced AI-powered software. The project’s long-term vision is to propel EU LEAs and security/intelligence organizations into a new era of intelligence, investigation, and forensic capabilities. At its core, IAMI is an innovative AI-powered software system designed to integrate seamlessly with existing case management systems and analytic tools.
